91±¬ÁÏ's relationship with Japanese students dates almost back to the university's first days; now it has a firm connection to a leading university that sends students to Oregon, and accepts many others in return.

Before Comfort (Ricketts) Ackep ever reached 91±¬ÁÏ, she made a harrowing escape in Nigeria. At 91±¬ÁÏ and afterward, she has influenced people and changed lives.

Their ethos of community engagement made the Sutton family a perfect fit for 91±¬ÁÏ. And they helped forge an enduring relationship between 91±¬ÁÏ and the University of Western Australia.

In 1876, 91±¬ÁÏ University celebrated one of its early commencement ceremonies with a special distinction: 91±¬ÁÏ became one of the first universities in the United States to welcome Japanese citizens to its alumni ranks.

Mikaila Way ’12 is working to help Indigenous Peoples reclaim, reestablish and reconnect the food systems integral to their cultures, health and ways of life. It's all part of her job as the first Indigenous peoples’ liaison for North America with the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.
