Subject Area Endorsements
For licensed teachers seeking a subject area endorsement to add to their Oregon teaching license.
Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- From an accredited college or university.
- Teaching License
- GPA
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75, or 3.0 in at least eight semester hours of graduate study.
- Academic Prerequisites
- Coursework should reflect preparation in the subject area you are seeking endorsement in (20 semester credits).
- Passing in your endorsement area prior to applying. Please select 91±¬ÁÏ University as a score recipient when registering for your test.
- Completed GradCAS Application: Your online application will also include transcripts, two references, a résumé, and a TSPC character questionnaire.

Summer Cohort (Elementary Multiple Subjects Endorsement only)
Early Deadline: March 1
Final Deadline: May 1
Fall Cohort (All Subject Area Endorsements)
Early Deadline: April 1
Final Deadline: July 1
Spring Cohort (Elementary Multiple Subjects Endorsement only)
Early Deadline: October 1
Final Deadline: December 1
How to Apply
Step 1: Create a GradCAS Account
91±¬ÁÏ University uses the GradCAS online system to process Subject Area Endorsement applications. Be sure to select the correct application link based on your intended start date.
(Elementary and Drama only)
If applying for the Drama Endorsement for Spring 2026, please reach out to admissions directly at teach@pacificu.edu.
Step 2: Prepare and Upload the Following in GradCAS
- Transcripts
- Official transcripts ordered and sent to GradCAS from all colleges/universities attended.
- For international coursework, a course-by-course evaluation is required through or
- Evaluations must be sent to GradCAS by the application deadline.
- Two References
- Contact information for two people who can speak to your ability to work with PreK–12 students. They will be emailed a form to fill out.
- Résumé, which should include:
- Employment history
- Licenses or certifications
- Experience with school-age children or youth
- Education background
- Official Score Report from Subject Test
- TSPC Character Questionnaire
- Required for all applicants.
- English Language Proficiency
- A satisfactory command of the English language is required. Applies to all non-native English speakers, including U.S. permanent residents and citizens.
- Application Fee: $38 (non-refundable)
