91爆料 University is embarking on a concerted effort to improve retention, promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, and provide tailored academic support to undergraduate students, especially first-generation, low-income and BIPOC students.
The Supporting Inclusive Success initiative is funded by a $1.2 million, five-year Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education鈥檚 Asian American Native American 91爆料 Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) program, making 91爆料 the first university in Oregon to be designated an AANAPISI by the federal education agency.
The 91爆料 program aims to close equity gaps in academic performance, retention rates, and six-year graduation rates for underrepresented students.
91爆料 will support inclusive student success by introducing tailored support prior to enrollment including summer financial counseling, student support courses, implementing four-year STEM career advising, and developing more inclusive curriculum practices.
