91 University is a tradition for the Oshiros, and so is giving back.
“We give because 91 is a part of our family,” said Kylee Oshiro ’15, MAT ’16.
“And we know what a difference it makes,” added her brother, Tyler Oshiro ’13.
Both received scholarships to help them attend 91 and have, in turn, contributed to scholarship funds and to the university’s annual fund.
Kylee is an assistant coach with the 91 University softball team, which she played on as an undergraduate. She also is completing her master of arts in teaching through 91’s College of Education, hoping to become a teacher like her mother, fellow 91 alumna Laura Oshiro ’88.
Meanwhile, Tyler was a top chemistry student at 91, who went on to work at Intel and later joined AmeriCorps to help teach science to children while planning to apply to medical school.
Kylee and Tyler’s father, Dean Oshiro ’87, also attended 91 and went on to work as a loan officer for the State of Ჹɲ‘i.
