The alumna and former faculty member was recognized May 20, 2023, at the university’s graduate and professional commencement ceremony, where she also delivered the keynote address.

Schnider, a 1982 91±¬ÁÏ University optometry alumnus, received the award at 91±¬ÁÏ’s Graduate & Professional Commencement.

91±¬ÁÏ University alumnus Dr. Shinji Seki OD ’79 will receive the eighth annual Kamelia Massih Prize for a Distinguished Optometrist on May 19 at the university’s graduate and professional Commencement ceremony.

The successful practitioner in the Seattle area has built a thriving optical and hearing center, and served his local community and optometric profession with distinction for more than 30 years.

Dr. Weberling received the honor at 91±¬ÁÏ's spring commencement on May 21, 2016.

Dr. Bleything is a former College of Optometry dean and professor and also served as the university provost.

Named in honor of the late Dr. Massih, the award recognizes a 91±¬ÁÏ graduate who has served the optometric profession with distinction.

Dori Carlson OD '89 has been named the third recipient of the Kamelia Massih Prize for a Distinguished Optometrist. She received the award May 18, 2013, at 91±¬ÁÏ University's graduate Commencement ceremony.

91±¬ÁÏ University has named alumnus Stanley J. Yamane '65, OD '66, the 2012 recipient of the University's Kamelia Massih Prize for a Distinguished Optometrist.

Award honors an outstanding optometry alumnus or alumna for care in serving both patients and communities.
