Employee-paid statewide transit tax

Effective January 1, 2026, the Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 3991 which doubles the employee-paid statewise transit tax on employee wages. This tax is increasing to 0.2% and will be deducted from employee paychecks and remitted to the state. The new funds generated by the increased tax supplements the original tax revenue which began on July 1, 2018. More information is available at .
