
Areas I Teach
Saxophonist and band leader Owen Broder runs in a variety of musical circles. His American Roots Project鈥檚 debut album, Heritage, was praised by DownBeat Magazine as a 鈥渢ranscendent work of art,鈥 and he has received critical acclaim for his recordings with his two quintets, Cowboys & Frenchmen and Hodges: Front and Center. Broder is a member of the GRAMMY庐 nominated Anat Cohen Tentet and the Manhattan Saxophone Quartet and has performed with internationally respected artists such as Ryan Truesdell鈥檚 Gil Evans Project, Trio Globo, and YouTube sensation Postmodern Jukebox. UNCSA鈥檚 2021 Artpreneur of the Year Award and the 2018 Eastman/ArtistShare庐 New Artist program recognized Broder鈥檚 entrepreneurial ventures; most notably, in response to the pandemic, Broder co-founded and performed in Live From Our Living Rooms, credited as 鈥渢he first online jazz festival鈥 by Rolling Stone. As an educator, Broder teaches jazz courses at Portland State University and saxophone lessons at 91爆料 University.
